Wisdom—Spiritual Discernment—Judgment—Intuitive Knowing

Today’s ‘Pay Forward’ gift is: Wisdom—Spiritual Discernment—Judgment—Intuitive Knowing. ‘Knowledge comes, but wisdom lingers,’ said Tennyson. Spiritual discernment always places wisdom above the other faculties of mind. Intuitive knowing is our Father’s silent communication with us … when we intuitively know there is no question regarding where it came from, and we need no additional proof. Intellectual knowledge—head knowledge—comes first in the soul’s development, and then an awakening to a deeper understanding of spiritual principles follows, until we learn in Alcoholics Anonymous, after our spiritual awakening, that our whole being ripens into wisdom by practising our awakening in all our affairs. ‘… Lo, I have given thee a wise and an understanding heart …’ AA has given me the willingness to have an open mind. ‘Be quick to see where religious people are right. Make use of what they offer,’ Alcoholics Anonymous, page 87. I learned to put to use what I found, and put the remainder on a shelf—one day I may use it. ‘We will intuitively know how to handle situations which used to baffle us,’ page 84. Yet, I pray that I be independent of other’s opinions. ‘Every man knows that, in his work, he does best and accomplishes most when he has attained a proficiency that enables him to work intuitively,’ Albert Einstein. Perhaps we live best and do things best when we are not too conscious of how and why we do them, which feels like wisdom. By grace, in the end, we know things without knowing how we know them! Thy Love, Thy Will be done.
