I was once bored and disillusioned with atheism and wanted to switch over to the winning side but felt blocked by clever certainties.
Here are some of the books that demolished those clever certainties, which turned out not to be clever or certain at all, and replaced them with something cleverer and definitely certain:
- F. Dostoyevsky, Notes from the Underground
- M. Bulgakov, Master and Margarita
- G. Macdonald, The Princess and the Goblin
- C. S. Lewis, Mere Christianity
- C. S. Lewis, Miracles
- C. S. Lewis, Surprised by Joy
- C. S. Lewis, the seven Narnia novels
- Ed. by David Baggett, C. S. Lewis As Philosopher: Truth, Goodness, and Beauty
- G. K. Chesterton, Orthodoxy
- B. Kastrup, The Idea of the World: A Multi-Disciplinary Argument for the Mental Nature of Reality
- G. Berkeley, A Treatise Concerning the Principles of Human Knowledge
- A Course in Miracles
